4 days, 3 nights (city break)

Day 1

You will arrive to Porto airport Friday afternoon where we’ll be waiting for you.  A transfer of one and a half hours will take us to the heart of the Douro River vineyard area where we will spend the next two nights.  The river is the main artery of this culture and will shape this landscape with smooth hills carpeted with vineyards.

In the evening  we could go for a visit to Regua, the main village of the area or hung out in our Quinta. These Quintas are the old country houses dedicated to produce the famous wine, and ours is one of the oldest ones, Quinta de la Pacheca.

Day 2

On Saturday we will go for a hike around Lamego and its fields,  considered one of the precious ones because it  produce one of the most famous wines in the regions. It is a small village perched on a hill, with its church, rustic houses and friendly people.  Perfect place to have an outdoor lunch and try the regional specialties including its wine.
After lunch we will check some of your skills in the process of wine productions doing some wine games.  Nothing mandatory or that involve some hardcore effort, so no worries about.

Dinner in the cellar of our Quinta, location that would be difficult for you to forget.

Day 3

On Sunday we head back to Porto city by train. It will go by the river Douro heading west all the way to the city center.  A ride that will keep your mouth opens most of the way.  Simply beautiful.
Lunch in our hotel, by the way the oldest one in the city and recently restored. In the  afternoon coffee in the Ribeira by the river,  having a close view of the St Luis bridge, a piece of art built by Eiffel, yes, the same one who built that famous tower in Paris. We will walk around the center, declared world heritage site, and you still will have time to do some shopping around before dinner.
At night we will cruise the river facing the city in a Ravelo, a traditional ship, while we enjoy some fish and some wine.  A `Fado´ band will accompany us playing live the famous nostalgic and melancholic fado songs.

Day 4

Monday you will be heading home, perhaps a bit hung over, but for sure you will carry back some precious moments and images from this almost forgotten jewel.
